Activities to do with kids this Easter holidays 🐰
Can you believe it’s nearly April already? The time for saying ‘Happy New Year’ has been and gone but the next break is in sight. Easter and with that the school holidays.
It’s always a great time when you have a couple public holidays to spend with the kids over their school break. Pair this with some warm weather (fingers crossed!) and it’ll be starting to feel like summer again.
However, by the third day, you may be asking yourself; ‘hmm what can I do with the kids today?’ Well we’ve got a series of activities for you and the kids to try this school holidays. Whether it’s rain or shine, we’ve got you covered.
*please note for the following activities we strongly recommend an adult assisting with these projects as you may be handling cans with a sharp edge at times.*
DIY with Skinny Fizz cans
A Skinny Fizz Night Light

All you need is:
- An empty Skinny Fizz can
- An LED candle
- A craft knife
- Thick electrical tape
- A pin
Instructions:
- Take the pin and start poking holes around the fruit figures outline on the can. The closer/more frequent the holes, the more light is going to shine through. Feel free to create more patterns or outline more part of the can!
- Using the craft knife, cut the bottom off of the can.
- Add tape around the sharp edge of the cans bottom.
- Turn on your LED candle and place the can on top to create the night light.
Skinny Fizz Pencil Holder

All you need is:
- An empty Skinny Fizz can
- A craft knife
- Thick electrical tape
Instructions:
- Using the craft knife, cut off the inside of the top part of the can.
- Take the tape and cover the newly exposed sharp edge.
- That’s it! Fill with your pens and pencils and it’s ready to go.
Skinny Fizz Succulent pot

All you need is:
- An empty Skinny Fizz can
- A craft knife
- Thick electrical tape
- Potting Mix
- A succulent of your choice
- A pin
Instructions:
- Using the craft knife, cut off the inside of the top part of the can.
- Take the tape and cover the newly exposed sharp edge.
- Next, poke holes in the bottom of the can for drainage.
- Fill the can to about half way with potting mix.
- Place the succulent into the can and top up with potting mix.
- Give the plant a quick water and it’s ready to grow!
And if you’re after a couple outdoor activities that are great for kids and even better for the planet, here are a couple ideas:
Beach clean up
Head to your favourite beach, bring a picnic, and take the time to pick up any rubbish in sight. You can even make a competition to see who can collect the most. Just make sure to bring a rubbish bag and some gloves.
Whilst picking up rubbish, an activity the kids will love is to also collect any sea glass you find. Rather than throwing the pieces you find away, take them home and create artwork with them.
Adding to the garden
Planting is not only great for the planet but for kids to get outside and get their hands dirty. It’ll also give them great gratification in weeks to come seeing their new plants grow.
Alternatively, head online and research any planting groups in your area. You may find there is a tree planting day scheduled over the break which you and your family can attend!
Hopefully that’s given you some ideas for fun with the kids this school holidays. If you do try any of these activities, we’d love to see them. Snap a pic and tag us on our socials.
Wishing you all a happy Easter!
